Best for

An asynchronous PvP starting framework with a complete army and no mandatory seasonal decree.

Avoid if

A seasonal payoff is absent, opponents bypass the ordinary screen, or the build relies on a fixed Surge-Library exploit that was patched.

How it works

The core separates damage, protection and growth. A protected Wizard with a meaningful attack effect is the commitment; Library develops it when the season and draws allow. Post-game review supplies evidence for the next adaptation.

1 · StabilizeWizardOpen the current season pool in the bottom-left multiplayer lobby panel before committing to a rare payoff. Then field Wizard and a screen from the actual hand. Decree availability permits a later option; it does not put that option into the next reward automatically.
2 · ConnectLibrary, Warlock; season-dependent supportConnect Library to the protected Wizard and choose an effect that functions against the opponents you are seeing. Static needs useful attacks and Combustion needs kills. Keep enough immediate army while enchantments develop; a ranked enemy can bypass the ordinary screen or leave your attack pattern clearing the wrong targets.
3 · DevelopStatic, Combustion; optional Steel CoatThe core is Wizard, protection and a focused Library connection, with empty slots reserved for season-appropriate repairs. There is no mandatory decree in the diagram. Patch #31 provides enemy-kingdom review after the run; use it to identify actual carry, protection and growth relationships rather than copying a dramatic effect seen in combat.

How to play

Stop expanding the enchantment engine when the Wizard never attacks or never secures the kills its payoff needs. If the troop survives but cannot clear disposable units, change damage distribution. Another Library does not necessarily answer a different target pattern or direct backline pressure.

What can break the build

An absent seasonal decree cannot be forced by following a previous season recipe. Before spending rerolls, check whether the payoff is in the pool at all. The patched Surge-Library interaction also cannot be assumed to reproduce an old extreme demonstration.

Evidence limit

Mechanics checked against the official card reference and developer Patch #29, #30 and #31 notes on 2026-10-13. Layouts and priorities are editorial recommendations for 0.9.8; no fresh-run clears, win rates, damage benchmarks or universal difficulty guarantees are claimed.

Lobby pool check → active carry and screen → useful enchantment → connected Library. Treat the order as a reward decision, not a promise that those cards arrive together.

Mid-run connections

Keep enough immediate army while enchantments develop; a ranked enemy can bypass the ordinary screen or leave your attack pattern clearing the wrong targets.

A mistake worth avoiding

An absent seasonal decree cannot be forced by following a previous season recipe. Before spending rerolls, check whether the payoff is in the pool at all. The patched Surge-Library interaction also cannot be assumed to reproduce an old extreme demonstration.

When to stop investing

Stop expanding the enchantment engine when the Wizard never attacks or never secures the kills its payoff needs. If the troop survives but cannot clear disposable units, change damage distribution. Another Library does not necessarily answer a different target pattern or direct backline pressure.

Substitutions and a supported pivot

For the next run, start as Blood if the Altar route better matches the season and the opening you want. During the current Spells run, a Blood pivot is possible only after actually obtaining Blood rewards or another supported access path; the starting king cannot be freely switched mid-run. Preserve the functioning army until the replacement engine is available.
