Overview
Mob is the Nomads troop that gains units when unit additions occur on adjacent plots. It is a population follower: the important planning question is which neighbouring plot receives the original increase and whether Mob is beside that recipient when the trigger happens.
Build an explicit unit-growth pair
Farm supplies annual unit growth to a selected adjacent troop. Mob can take advantage of unit additions occurring on a neighbouring plot. Place the intended recipient beside both the relevant support and Mob, then inspect the actual trigger in the game. A Farm anywhere in the kingdom is not enough to establish the full relationship.
This is also why a generic stat buff should not be counted as a unit addition. Damage, HP and troop population are different fields. A neighbouring Blacksmith growth event is not described as the same trigger as adding units to a troop.
Consider kingdom-wide population effects
Oblation gives units to all troops when discarded. That supplies a reason to examine how a population engine interacts with Mob and its neighbours. The database does not assert a double-counting formula or unlimited chain from that relationship. Inspect the resulting population rather than multiplying several quoted card descriptions into an invented final number.
Patch 23 also fixed Mob's interaction when placed beside a Warlord with Khanate. That is a named decree-dependent situation, not an unmodified Warlord effect. Keep the active decree visible when recording a build so that another player can understand why the unit count changed.
Rebellious changes the setup
Patch 30 reworked Rebellious so Mob plots gain an additional unit each year. That provides direct annual growth to Mob when the perk is equipped. It is not part of the plain Mob card. A build with Rebellious should record that perk rather than presenting the result as a baseline troop property.
For an early plan, start with a troop that can win the next fight, then decide whether Mob and a population support can fit without removing necessary defence. Scaling population is useful only when those units deliver damage or protect something valuable. More bodies can also create different targeting and positioning problems from a stronger individual unit.
A clear test sequence
- Record Mob's level and current unit count.
- Identify the neighbouring troop and the exact unit-addition card or event.
- Trigger that one effect and compare the two plot counts.
- Add another support only after the original relationship is verified.
This is a verification method, not a claim that a particular Farm/Mob layout has the highest clear rate.
