Overview

Reinforce is a Progress enchantment that grants battle-time HP growth and can heal above the troop's normal maximum HP. Patch 29 changed its job completely. It no longer belongs in explanations that claim every neighbouring level-up produces an automatic Reinforce damage increase.

Read the current effect

The official rework states +2% HP per second during battle and explicitly allows healing above maximum HP. The beneficiary is the enchanted troop, not every troop in the kingdom. Additional enchantments can be tracked through the receiving plot; this reference does not calculate a final HP total from duration because the consulted announcement does not publish a complete modifier and timing model.

This distinction matters when reading old Lab Rat builds. A Rat can still gain levels from adjacent plot upgrades, but Reinforce's present HP mechanic is independent of that level trigger. Retaining the old story and replacing only the version number would misdescribe the combination.

Choose a recipient that stays in combat

A durability engine needs time to operate. Put Reinforce on a troop whose role benefits from remaining alive, then inspect whether it actually survives the opening enemy pressure. If the recipient is eliminated immediately, a late theoretical HP payoff is not helping that battle. Extra protection, frontline allocation and attack pressure can matter more than another long-duration effect.

For planning, compare two questions: will this troop survive the first dangerous exchange, and does preserving it protect the rest of the army? This is a qualitative decision rule. It is not a promise that a particular recipient is the strongest choice at every difficulty.

Synergies to inspect

Library can develop enchantment stacks on a neighbouring troop. Reinforce supplies an enchantment worth considering for that engine when more durability is useful, but Library adds a random selection and probability component. A finished build cannot assume every annual activation adds the exact stack you wanted.

Boar links its HP to mounted riders' stats. That makes an HP effect an interesting candidate to examine, but mounting eligibility, population and timing still determine who receives the benefit. This guide does not multiply hypothetical overheal into a guaranteed rider damage result. Verify the selected mount and rider in the game.

Common mistakes

  • Treating Reinforce as the old damage-on-level-up effect.
  • Confusing HP growth with a direct attack-damage buff.
  • Projecting a long battle duration onto a troop that dies in the opening seconds.
  • Reporting exact overheal or rider outcomes without checking modifiers and current in-game values.

Version and verification

The current mechanic is established by Patch 29; Patch 30 also improved its performance. Checked through Patch 31 / 0.9.8 on 13 October 2026. Find other HP and enchantment effects in the card database.
