Overview
Mycelium is a Nature summon-support card that generates fighting spores during battle. Spores accumulate across battles, giving it a different growth pattern from a troop that relies entirely on another identical card upgrade. The official Wiki classifies it as a Building; this catalogue follows that primary reference rather than silently adopting the older Tower label found elsewhere.
What is verified
The useful documented mechanism is repeated spore generation plus accumulated spores. The official Wiki lists a five-second summon interval, while older third-party tables list other intervals. Patch 31 also buffed Mycelium's stats without publishing a complete numerical table. This guide therefore avoids presenting an exact current interval, damage total or base stat as independently verified.
That evidence boundary does not make the card's role unknowable. A plan can still ask whether a summon engine has enough battles and enough survival to accumulate value. It cannot honestly claim a precise number of spores at a given year from the sources used here.
Give the engine time
Place a Mycelium plot only when the kingdom can survive the battle it is about to enter. A damage source or early defender may be needed before the longer-lived spore engine pays off. Track what the spores actually accomplish: absorbing attention, reaching enemy units, or contributing damage are different outcomes. A large visible population alone does not establish that the build can defeat the next opponent.
For a run checklist, note the plot's current level, any active summon buffs, the next enemy and whether a support choice displaces essential immediate combat. This turns an attractive scaling idea into an explicit decision rather than an unconditional card ranking.
Compare it with death-based summons
Demon Altar grows through allied deaths and troop destruction, while Mycelium's documented identity is spore accumulation over battles. Both create combat summons, but the triggers are different. Do not assume that an annual unit-adding card such as Farm targets a Mycelium plot just because spores are visible on the battlefield: Farm's documented recipient is a troop plot.
Likewise, a planner should distinguish a generic neighbouring support relationship from a game-specific summon interaction. Select a support because its current tooltip actually names an eligible recipient, not because its description contains the word “units.”
Quest and version context
Patch 31 changed the Mycotocracy quest: the starting setup gained an Earthworks card, and a bug affecting spore attacks in the first quest year was fixed. Those quest changes do not establish a general rule that every normal run starts with extra Earthworks or that Mycelium needs a workaround to attack.
