Choose the right change
Read the package role and the test that distinguishes it from a normal launch.
Use Almanac when you want to read a card before choosing it without leaving the game. The author describes a browser for cards, decrees and perks, using the running game's own text and artwork. It is a reference interface; it does not create a kingdom or predict whether a build wins.
When to choose it
If your problem is finding an effect, start with the built-in Compendium and decide what extra access you need. Almanac is useful when you prefer a separate menu while the game is open. Our card database is the alternative when you want a browser reference without installing a plugin.
A useful first check
Open the panel before starting a run. Read one card, close its detail, then close the whole panel. Only after that small test should you check it during play. Record the mod and game versions together so a later update has a clear before-and-after comparison.
If the panel is missing
Separate a loader failure from a plugin failure. A running game alone does not establish that a plugin loaded. Check the loader log for this plugin, confirm its folder is in the active installation, and repeat with other plugins disabled. A menu that appears but has broken text is a different report from a menu that never appears.
