9 Kings Farm Guide: Units, Adjacency and Recipients

See which troop Farm can grow, why one adjacent recipient differs from every neighbor, and when population support helps a Nothing build.

Farm adds units to one adjacent troop each year. It is a Nothing support building, not an attacker or an economy building. Place a useful troop beside it before allocating more land or upgrades to population growth.

Overview

Farm adds units to one adjacent troop each year. It is a Nothing support building, not an attacker or an economy building. Place a useful troop beside it before allocating more land or upgrades to population growth.

One recipient is the important limit

The official card reference says one adjacent troop receives the annual units. It does not establish that every adjacent troop is affected or guarantee a fixed target-selection order. When several eligible troops surround a Farm, inspect the actual counts before and after the yearly effect.

Keep the intended recipient connected by an adjacent plot. For a simple plan, Farm at B1 touches a troop at B2. A troop at C2 is diagonal to that Farm and does not supply the same connection. A tower next to Farm is not a troop recipient.

The older reference lists increasing unit additions as Farm levels, but it does not identify a current game patch. This guide uses the qualitative relationship and the current in-game tooltip rather than publishing a measured Patch #31 output table.

Choose the troop that needs the units

Paladin offers a defensive recipient; Soldier is a more general melee option; Archer supplies ranged damage. Population is useful only when those units perform a needed job. A larger unsupported group can still lose quickly to the threat already defeating it.

The Nothing frontline plan connects Farm and Blacksmith to one working troop. Farm develops count while Blacksmith develops damage. These effects are not interchangeable, and placing them does not guarantee enough growth before the next battle.

Common placement errors

Observed problemCheck before buying another support
Intended troop gains no unitsConfirm adjacency, eligibility and the actual recipient.
Another troop receives the growthReview Farm's other eligible neighbors and simplify the connection.
More units still lose immediatelyRepair survival or add the damage role missing from the army.
Farm is beside a Scout TowerMove it to a useful troop; choose tower-eligible support for the tower.

Do not destroy or replace a useful troop merely to make a diagram match. Preserve the army that survives now and adjust support as cards and unlocked land permit.

Source and version scope

The official card reference establishes the annual one-troop effect. Checked against the available developer notes through Patch #31 / 0.9.8 on 15 October 2026; no controlled growth or difficulty-clear test was supplied. Continue with Paladin, Blacksmith or the build library.
