Overview
Boar is a Nature troop that can be mounted by adjacent troops. The documented rider bonus scales with the Boar's HP. This is a relationship between the mount and the units that actually ride it; a nearby plot does not turn every unit in the kingdom into a rider.
Build the relationship before adding support
Reserve positions for both the Boar and the intended troop beside it. Then inspect their behaviour in battle. A layout that places the damage troop outside the mount's reach has failed before any HP growth is considered. The planning grid can show candidate adjacency, but the game's unit assignment and available mounts determine the actual battle result.
The official Wiki describes a 1% rider-stat increase for each HP on the Boar. Its base-HP table is not safe to treat as current: Patch 29 decreased Boar's starting HP without publishing a full replacement stat table. We therefore preserve the documented qualitative HP relationship and leave current base HP unknown rather than carrying forward old values.
Why Forest is relevant
Forest applies recurring HP growth to nearby eligible plots. If it reaches the Boar, that supplies a plausible mount-growth engine. Make sure the Forest's placement serves the chosen mount instead of adding a support building that reaches unrelated troops. The position used for Forest is a real kingdom cost and may compete with a second defender or another damage source.
A simple planning sequence is to place the rider and mount first, add a Forest location that reaches the intended HP recipient, and only then fill the remaining spaces. Compare the displayed HP before and after its annual effect. This checks that the planned support relationship is actually active.
Boar and Raptor are different mounts
Raptor combines its stats with the rider and pierces the frontline. Boar's defining relationship uses mount HP to increase rider stats. Do not swap their numerical explanations or assume the same resulting damage. The distinction also affects which growth source is being purchased with a support plot.
Reinforce offers a battle-time HP mechanic rather than Forest's annual growth. It is another relationship worth testing, not proof of a specific maximum output. Patch 30 added safeguards for the ghost Boar/Raptor bug; old visual glitches should not be presented as current intended mechanics.
Diagnose a weak mount layout
Check adjacency first, actual mounting second, and survival third. If the rider does not mount, more Boar HP cannot fix the missing assignment. If the army dies before engaging the important target, a larger theoretical stat bonus does not solve delivery. Keep enough combat strength while the support engine grows.
Version and verification
Identity and rider mechanics come from the official card reference. Patch 29 and Patch 30 establish later changes. Checked through Patch 31 / 0.9.8; no current base-HP number or universal rider formula is claimed. Compare mounts in the card database.
